Synopsis
Frans van de Staak's second collaboration with the poet Gerrit Kouwenaar, after Windschaduw. Eight actors play two couples who, across a range of settings, laugh, quarrel, write notes, fuss around, make love and simply talk. Van de Staak describes his own method: he leaves out the why as well as the results, and what is left is the moment of endeavour. Kouwenaar's poems appear as intertitles, lending a strange unease to scenes at once ordinary and fascinating: nothing connects, and yet there are patterns and ruptures.
