Synopsis

MACDO draws equally on the aesthetics of telenovelas and of home movies to offer a sharp analysis of family power dynamics and of the mechanisms of domination within a household. Evoking a Christmas Eve in late-1990s Mexico City, the film reveals the tensions hidden behind an apparently warm family gathering, showing how closeness and affection often mask control.
